A Daily Journal for the Creative Soul
-
I have developed three month journal of daily practices. Each day has a page with opened ended journal prompts and questions for self-reflection, discovery and creative flow.
These practices can be done daily or at your own pace. The goal is to encourage self-inquiry and care, record ideas and reflect on your unique creative voice.
WEEKLY PRACTICES
Practice I - Centering
Practice II - Grounding
Practice III - The Vision
Practice IV - Shift It
Practice V - Flow
Practice VI - Anchoring
Practice VII - The GardenEach day has space for freestyle writing, drawing, ideas, anything. These practices repeat weekly. Every four weeks there is a prompt to create a synopsis and reflect on the last few weeks of journal entries.
See details in the video below.

I believe we each have a unique creative signature and the ability to generate ideas and express them in a way that only we can. Embedded in the journal practices are simple prompts where we can record our creative urges, style, and tone. I believe tracking this can help remind us of ourselves, strengthen the voice that is uniquely ours.

Sprinkled through the journal are grounding techniques, some breath work, mild cognitive reframes, gratitudes and release practices. I see these as self-care. When we take a few minutes to slow down, set intentions, focus on our goals and vision and release what no longer serves us - we are more free to be creative and flow. Also, who doesn’t need some kind, compassionate gentle language now and again?

A simple daily journal for the creative soul.
This three-month journal has been imagined as a simple daily tool to help us center ourselves, track our changes over time, and assist in uncovering our deepest personal values, preferences and creative urges. The daily exercises are designed to be easy, accessible and flexible. Seven daily practices repeat to create weekly logs that can help us notice our consistent patterns and those that shift, giving us valuable insight into ourselves.
As a creative person who has worked with hundreds of artists I have found that a practice of slowing down and intentionally circling in on our own creative impulses can be helpful in our development and artistic practice. We each have a unique signature to our creative energy. This is what allows us to explore new ideas and create what only we can. These journal pages are intended to help us hone in on our unique creative gifts and remind us of ourselves. I invite you to embrace whatever you find in these exercises, if you keep finding certain colors, shapes or elements appear again and again in your exercises, embrace those as central to your unique signature in the moment. This can help us in creating some of our most meaningful expression.
This journal also includes a few grounding practices and cognitive re-framing tools – “housekeeping” for our minds – not too much to become labor but enough to help keep our minds and bodies clear and healthy. These can help us transmute some of the thoughts and ideas that clutter our minds. Once cleared, we make space for new creative thoughts to form and over time this becomes a healthy habit which will only support us as creative beings.
While designed as a weekly log, these pages could be completed at your own pace. Over time patterns will emerge and I hope they help you on your creative journey.
